FREEtheMIBS to moderate landmark panel on MIBs at 2023 IMSA Forum and Expo
Leading manufacturers Q-Free, Yunex Traffic, Cubic, Oriux, Econolite, and SWARCO McCain discuss MIBs at critical moment for transportation connectivity.
June 14, 2023
FREEtheMIBS today announced their participation at the 2023 IMSA Forum and Expo as a moderator for a panel discussion on the safety, security, and interoperability of traffic signal controllers. All six of the leading North American traffic signal controller manufacturers will come together to discuss the best way to safeguard intersection controllers while creating a secure network capable of handling the growing demand of data sharing and connectivity.
Advisory Board Chair Trisha Tunilla will moderate the 90-minute panel alongside Steve Griffith, NEMA Executive Director, Transportation Systems and Cybersecurity on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 10:30am (PT). Panelists include:
Patrick Marnell, Director of Product Management, Q-Free
Michael Gaertner, Vice President Products & Systems and DevOps, Yunex Traffic
Shaun Alford, Product Manager at Cubic Transportation Systems, Cubic
Ray Deer, Chief Technology Officer, Oriux
Tom Stiles, Vice President, Econolite
Matt Zinn, Senior Applications Engineer, SWARCO McCain
“The controller is the safety critical single source of truth at an intersection and communicating with the controller via a management information base –or MIB– is a key enabler in that process,” said Griffith. “This panel will feature experts from these manufacturers discussing what it means when they share their MIBs.”
The panelists are excited to share a table for what they call an unprecedented event. Show host and Executive Director of IMSA, Toby Cummings, shares in the enthusiasm, “As IMSA prepares for its 2023 Forum and Expo in Reno, Nevada, the excitement around the professional development opportunities is ramping up. For the first time ever, a six-member panel of industry leaders is presenting as a unified group to deliver content to those in the field. In addition to the submission ranking committee, I am excited for this session. Don’t miss it.”
This session is ideal for technicians looking to gain a larger understanding of how controllers “talk” to other devices; and agencies hoping to integrate solutions from multiple controller vendors or looking to leverage real-time signal data with third-party applications.
For those not attending the IMSA Forum and Expo, NEMA will host a webinar discussion with the same panel on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 1:00pm (ET). Details to follow.
